What is parquet flooring?

Parquet flooring is timber flooring laid in geometric patterns such as herringbone, chevron, basketweave or mosaic. Individual timber blocks are arranged to form a decorative surface that adds warmth, character and long-term value to a home or commercial space.

What areas of Sydney do you service?

Australian Parquet Industries services the North Shore, The Hills District, the Eastern Suburbs and the Sutherland Shire, along with the wider Sydney metropolitan area. Our showroom is located at 7/89 Boundary Road, Peakhurst NSW 2210.

What are your showroom opening hours?

Our Peakhurst showroom is open Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Saturday from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM. We are closed on Sundays and public holidays.

Do you repair or restore existing parquet floors?

Yes. We repair, re-lay, sand and re-finish existing parquetry floors, including matching replacement blocks to the original timber species and pattern. Contact us on 02 9533 9577 for an on-site assessment.

Can parquet flooring be installed over a concrete slab?

Yes. Parquetry can be direct-stuck to a concrete slab provided the slab is level, cured and moisture tested in line with Australian Standard AS1884. We assess subfloor conditions before every installation.

What timber species do you offer?

We supply a wide range of Australian and imported species including Blackbutt, Spotted Gum, Blue Gum, Jarrah, Tasmanian Oak, Brushbox, Merbau and European Oak, in both solid and engineered formats.

What is the difference between parquetry and parquet flooring?

The terms are used interchangeably in Australia. Parquetry generally refers to the craft of laying small timber blocks into geometric patterns, while parquet describes the finished flooring product itself.

How do I clean and maintain a parquet floor?

Sweep or vacuum regularly and clean with a barely damp mop using a pH-neutral timber floor cleaner. Avoid steam mops and excess water, place mats at entry points, and fit felt pads under furniture to prevent scratching.

Can I order a sample before purchasing?

Yes. Samples are available so you can check the colour and grain in your own lighting. You can also view the full range in our Peakhurst showroom at 7/89 Boundary Road.

How much extra should I order for wastage?

We recommend allowing an additional 5 to 10 percent over your measured area to cover cutting and wastage. Herringbone and chevron patterns generally require the higher allowance.

How long does delivery take?

Orders are typically dispatched within 1 to 3 business days, with delivery across Australia taking a further 3 to 10 business days depending on your location.
